The BRASH 10: Athletes-in-Chief
Stop and think about it for a second: How cool is it that the next President of the United States is an accomplished basketball player with serious game? But President-elect Barack Obama is not the only Commander-in-Chief in our nation's recent history who considered sports a vital part of their lives (all except Richard Nixon, who even though he loved watching baseball and football, going bowling every now and again was the extent of his athletic activities). Hail to the jocks! —Richard Pérez-Feria

President-elect Barack Obama Barack Obama loves basketball and is actually still a very good player (though he tends to hog the ball a bit, according to some of his previous coaches). A varsity high school b-baller in Hawaii, President-elect Obama still shoots hoops with his old teammates as part of an election night ritual all throughout the long primary and general election campaign. Obama will be the first president who puts basketball on top of his athletic must-do activities.
